NA Versatile Hunting Dog Annual Meeting

The International Recognized North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) has a HUGE weekend planned at the Southway Hotel & Conference Centre!

Anyone with a hunting dog or even the slightest interest in hunting at all, will likely be there!

The activites and seminars get under way this Friday, January 21st, and continue all the way through to Sunday!

What is the NAVHDA??

The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to foster, promote, and improve the versatile hunting dog breeds in North America;  to conserve game by using well trained reliable hunting dogs  before and after the shot; and to aid in the prevention of cruelty to animals by discouraging nonselective and uncontrolled  breeding, which produces unwanted and uncared for dogs.

The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association is a legally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering, improving, promoting, and protecting the versatile hunting dog in North America.

Underlying these aims is the desire to serve the interests of game conservation, prevention of cruelty to animals, and the gun dog hunter by helping the hunter to train his dog to work before and after the shot, on land and in water.

NAVHDA is an excellent complement to the activities of sporting dog breed clubs and field trial organizations. It was created to supplement the activities of those clubs by providing a proven, standard method of evaluating the performance of all versatile hunting dogs, consistent with North American hunting practices, regardless of breed.

  1. What no comment from PETA about using animals for hunting purposes towards other animals.

CRUEL I say, just CRUEL, that they are to busy to be concerned.

And look at all those participants wearing fur. SHOCKING I say, JUST SHOCKING.

  2. it’s a joke people …story is not credible because he does not have any very good friends hahahahahah

relax their IGGSTeR…it’s ajoke I always tell this to people when they start their story with “a friend of mine says….”

from one AH to another AH. Hahahahahah

  3. well it’s not very funny
and if you want to come here
and have your total contribution insults
to other hunters, why not try your act
down at Yuk Yuk’s because it’s not getting
    much of a laugh here.

  4. may not be to you…don’t take personallly

I personally do find it funny and don’t consider it an insult!

WHo are you to judge that my total contributions are insults!

let’s let Jeff decide and he cn remove it all if he wishes to…

    1. Ok, I am not quite sure why one would use this NAVHDA post as a way to take jabs at another reader…but for God’s sake take it outside or PM each other!

Alain, Iggy or anyone else for that matter, if you have nothing to contribute to a given post, then there is no reason to be there.

  5. well I did have something to offer, and that’s what I got.
it’s not the first time, and you know it, and quite frankly I’m fed up with it.

    1. No worries Iggy, I spoke with him and we’re all good to go now…

So, I wonder how things are going down at the Southway Hotel and Conference Centre?

I assume Dan D will be there??

  6. I know Kevin is speaking on Saturday about hunting dogs, and Dan is an authority on hunting dogs as well.
I used to buy some kind of Balsam treatment from Dan for my Beagle’s feet to help his feet stand up to the rigors of a deer hunt, and he sells all kinds of collars and name tags as well. Anyway we are off to the hunt camp to have a winter fishing weekend, should be fun, fishing for spec’s.

    1. Iggy, you best keep that fire going inside camp, its going to be a nippy one!

Please send me some brookie pics(if you catch any), so I can post them…and that goes for anyone else headed out on the ice this weekend!

      Best of luck!!

  7. the only thing we found iggy for the beagles feet ( cut on rocks and stuff like that ) it to buy more beagles at least thats what we tell our wives as it is not fare to run a dog when hurt even though they want to 🙂

  8. True chessy, so we used this liquid Balsam juice on the Beagles feet about 6 weeks before the hunt, everyday you put it on. It reallly toughens up the feet and no ripped or worn out pads. The only stuff I’ve ever used that worked and it really worked. Try it, we should get Dan on to explain what it is

  9. caught some speks, had a great time, the weather was perfect, however this morning on our way out after we got the machines going, it was -26 and a bit of a wind, got frost bite on the cheeks but it was all worth it. That’s what makes winter pass a little faster
