Growing up in the Laurentian Mountains of rural Quebec, Jeff was introduced to the hunting, fishing, and trapping by his Dad at a very young age; falling in love instantly. Over the years he made the Great Outdoors a focal point for his life’s work. Jeff earned degrees in both environmental management and fish & wildlife biology and, as an award-winning member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada has contributed to many Canadian and American publications & websites over the past 20+ years. His popular Outdoors Guy column runs regularly in the Pembroke Daily Observer newspaper for the past 5 years, and he was former Editor-in-Chief of Fish, Hunt & Ride magazine for 2 years. Jeff maintains his Outdoors Guy Blog and contributes regularly to Northern/Northeastern Ontario Tourism Site.
The Outdoors Guy enjoys traveling and has visited every Canadian province over the years – hunting, fishing, camping and enjoying the fruits of his labour. He describes himself as the consummate conservationist and family-man, and describes his cooking as down to earth and simple, and as about as Canadian as you can get. He brings with him an in-depth knowledge of nature and conservation along with a genuine love and passion for the outdoors – from the field to the table. He has 7 books to his credit starting with; Weird Facts about Fishing released in 2009 followed by 6 cookbooks through by Lone Pine Publishing and Company’s Coming.
Jeff and his family are avid campers and have had a seasonal trailer in the Ottawa valley for the past 10 years.
